Seasonal Bunches

The beauty of my seasonal bunches is that they offer a snapshot of what is growing in the Shropshire Hills at any given time. Available from early April to the first frosts, usually mid October.

SPRING

From the early tiny spring bulbs of snowdrops, crocus and muscari, gorgeous soft scented narcissi and paperwhites, huge headed hyacinth, to the season show stoppers, and one of my favourite cut flower, the tulip. Not your standard supermarket tulip, but big doubles and parrots with a huge wow factor.

SUMMER

All the romance of a cottage garden, plus a few extra. Roses, cornflowers, sweet williams, snapdragons, phlox, pinks, sunflowers, peonies, cosmos, dahlias, calendula, yarrow, nigella & larkspur.

AUTUMN

As the days begin to shorten the colours make a subtle change to more strong and dark colours. Sunflowers, strawflowers, amaranthus, rudbeckia, late season cosmos join seed heads and grasses in our arrangements. The drying racks also fill up in anticipation of winter bunches. And as soon as the first big frost hits (known as the killing frost), most of the patch turns black, and our thoughts turn to Christmas.
